Start Point: Corporate Logo Re-Design

Corporate Identity

Let’s start with a succinct definition*. ‘A corporate identity is the overall image of a corporation or firm or business in the minds of diverse public’s, such as customers and investors and employees. It is a primary task of the corporate communications department to maintain and build this identity to accord with and facilitate the attainment of business objectives.’

After 14 months of successful trading we are considering dropping the ‘Marketing Consultancy‘ element of our corporate logo. In future we may just like to be known as ‘eapb‘. Our client(s) work consists of a wide and diverse range of topics and subject matter, some of which should not be narrowly classed as ‘marketing consultancy’ activities. They often take the wider form of ‘advertising’, ‘PR, ‘mobile’, ‘social’, ‘search’ etc., etc.

Splitting hairs? Maybe, as certainly the above are marketing activities in the general sense. However, it is becoming our firm opinion that the term ‘marketing consultancy’ has the potential to emerge as a rather outmoded and myopic description of what we do. In today’s fast-changing business environment we feel we must express our identity in everything that we do. It is clear to us going forward how:

» Identity will be crucial to market share
» Identity will play a central role in the expansion and diversification of eapb
» Identity will be crucial to recruitment and internal workings of eapb
» Identity will impact on our bottom line

Of course corporate identity does not start and finish with a fancy, crisp new logo design! However, for eapb at this stage of our development, it is a good place to start. Our aim with a potential new ‘eapb’ logo is to create a recognisable symbol and system that allows a single idea to emerge in the widest possible range of cultural and business contexts.

It is our aim to ensure the three themes of coherence; symbolism and positioning – go to the very core of our organisation both now and in the future. We are all looking forward to managing the change of logo and continuing to grow our business through providing an outstanding level of customer satisfaction, and ultimately RESULTS!
